I've never had problem transferring photos to my pc before merely today, Nov three 2017, Samsung updated the organization files and now when I connect the phone to my pc via USB information technology closes later on a few seconds. Let me clarify - I connect the phone via usb to my reckoner running Windows 10 - I open File Explorer and click on Samsung-SM-G920V - then I click on "Phone" and attempt to click on DCIM but before I tin can do that the window closes and I have to get back and beginning again - sometimes I can click on DCIM and and so "Photographic camera" and see the photos but then the window but closes and I have to start all again. I cant get any further than this before the window shuts down. Its driving me nuts! I've rebooted the phone and my pc and it didn't assistance. Anybody else experiencing this? I take some pics on my phone that I really demand to put on my pc. Help!!

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

      Download

  2. How-do-you-do in that location!
almost sounds to me like a usb cord/port interim wonky. Do you take another cord to try?
  3. If all else fails use Google photos on your phone, login to photos.google.com on your PC, and download from your PC browser

I dont think its the usb string considering information technology charges the phone without any problems.

    Yea I suspect it's a buggy commuter.
  8. While that may be true, the data transfer circuit may exist the issue. There is a charging "excursion/connection" and a information "circuit/connection" in the string. Just as there are cords simply for charging and other cords for charging/data transfer. That's why I mention the possible cord upshot :)

Nope. I have two identical cords hither (aforementioned brand and model) . They both charge fine, simply the other has a wonky data connectedness similar what yours is having, just the other transfers data fine. So information technology could exist the cord.

Drat! Sounds just like my problem. Here's the text I drafted for this post, earlier I found the correct forum:

SUMMARY: Android File Transfer doesn't believe the phone is connected to the laptop, even though the telephone is getting charged from the laptop through the cablevision.

My MacBookAir6,2 is running High Sierra, MacOS 10.13.1. My Samsung Due south-half dozen Verizon SM-G920V is running Android version 7.0, security patch level Nov. ane, 2017.

I just downloaded Android File Transfer.dmg (from https://www.android.com/filetransfer/) and moved the app to the Applications folder, just as the download folio tells me to. The app says it's version one.0.11, created Friday, Oct 27, 2017 at 6:15 PM.

I connected the unlocked phone to the laptop with a USB cable.
    The phone says:

    >>>>>
    *Attention*

The connected device is unable to access data on this telephone. Reconnect the USB cable and try again.

Android File Transfer must be installed on Mac OS X devices. To download Android File Transfer, go to https://www.android.com/filetransfer.
    <<<<<

This was the 3rd time I downloaded the app (from https://world wide web.android.com/filetransfer/), and the third time since this download that I've connected the cable — fourth, at present: I turned off Ability Saving on the Android. Same message.

    The download page says

    4. Use the USB cable that came with your Android device and connect information technology to your Mac.

Well, I've had this phone for a while,* and the cable is not the i that came with it... but if I call up correctly, information technology IS one that I bought at a Verizon store.

*Actually this is a replacement of my original phone, nether warranty, because the USB socket plain got distorted, and I couldn't count on any cable to stay connected unless the telephone was admittedly still. I've transferred the data and apps, by and large, and the cable works fine for ability, including when information technology'south plugged into one of the laptop's USB ports, like now. Information technology's continued for power, all correct, but not for file transfer.

    Any suggestions, anyone?
