Clarification
- Through the employ of digital mixed media,Daryl Thetford seeks to uncover the beauty that comes out of chaos and disorder. Instead of forcing the chaos to attach to an existing sense of structure, the artist embraces information technology in lodge to discover new ideas of the world and society. Using photography to capture the essence of this chaos, Daryl Thetford collages a series of images (frequently using fifty or more for 1 slice) to portray and share his view of the world.

The Struggle to Evolve Before the End of Time, Solo Exhibit, 2014
We are bombarded with advertisements on billboards, cars, television receiver, and even in the heaven. News, e-mail, weather updates, images of state of war, social networking pages, and stories of loss, hunger, and natural and man-made disasters are delivered to our computers and phones dark and day; their arrivals are appear with a beep or chinkle. Stories of hoarding and addictions—to food, spending, sex, money, and even other people—frighten and fascinate usa. Only because we are unable to take in the whole film at once, we are forced to view the globe in fragments, creating a sense of disarray and heightened feet and confusion. The nature of chaos inspires my work. Collage provides a means to reverberate and express the tension between our fragmented struggle for understanding and simultaneously articulate the beauty that can emerge from disorder. My work challenges the existing structures we use to cope with disarray, and suggests that, through a studied and coherent reassembling of fragments, we can gain a more diverse and integrated view of the earth and ourselves
